Sri Lanka Army Sports Club clinched a double by winning the Men’s and Women’s titles at the 30th Rupavahini Volleyball Challenge Trophy Super League Tournament which concluded at the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) Indoor Stadium in Maharagama.

The Army Men’s team overcame Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) 3-2 (25-20, 25-17, 21-25, 25-27, 15-10) in a thrilling final while the Women’s team thrashed Sri Lanka Navy SC 3-1 (23-25, 27-19, 25-21, 25-20).

Earlier, Youth SC Moragalla lifted the Rupavahini Champions Trophy Men’s title defeating Golden Birds SC Radawana 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 33-31) in the final encounter. In addition, Youth SC Thuduwawa won the Rupavahini Champions Trophy Women’s title overcoming Youth SC Hambantota in the final.

The Men’s and Women’s Super League champions received a cash award of Rs. 100,000 each while the two runners-up received a cash award of Rs. 75,000 each. In addition, all Best Players of the tournament received a cash award of Rs. 25,000 each.

The winners of the Men’s and Women’s Championship received a cash award of Rs. 50,000 each while the two runners-up received a cash award of Rs. 30,000 each. The Best Players received a cash award of Rs. 15,000 each.

The event was conducted by the NYSC in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation.
