A biopic on Freddie Mercury the late Queen leader will be made next year. Many futile attempts have been made over the years in making a biopic on Mercury. The latest news from the UK points to a positive development as Rami Malek, the Emmy award winning actor from the US TV series Mr Robot has been selected to star as Freddie Mercury. Filming is expected to commence early in 2017 with Graham King and Queen Manager Jim Beach being the producers. The surviving members of Queen are expected to be involved with the film music score. The biopic is likely to be called ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ after the band’s biggest hit song. Mercury was one of the most energetic live performers who died aged 45 on 24th November 1991 due to complications from AIDS.

Lady Gaga will feature as a small screen artist as she will play Donatella Versace in the mini TV series American Crime Story: Versace/Cunanan. The series covers killer Andrew Cunanan’s murder of fashion house giant Gianni Versace which took place in 1997.

Pop star Rihanna has been named winner of the 2016 coveted Shoe of the Year award known as the Shoe Oscars on Nov 4. The Babadian born singer has been named for her shoe wear Fenty Puma sneakers. The honour will be presented at the 30th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards on 29th November in New York.

New Zealand born pop singer Lorde turned 20 on 7th November and she marked the occasion by releasing news on social media that she is recording her second album right now in New York.

Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and the Weeknd will perform at Victoria Secrets first Paris city fashion show. The worldwide airing of the event will be on 16th December.

Next January will mark one year after David Bowie passed away. The BBC will air a documentary covering the last five years of Bowie’s life. He died of cancer aged 69 on 10th January this year.

For a third week the all girl group Little Mix has been successful in holding on the No: 1 spot on the UK singles chart with ‘Shout Out To My Ex’. Combined sales gave the song 79,000 that is 17,600 copies higher than the previous week. As the song completes three weeks at the top of the chart it has equalled another of the group’s hits ‘Black Magic’ which had an identical run at the top of the UK charts.

Meanwhile Little Mix is promoting the track ‘F.U’ as the next single. The group’s new album ‘Glory Days’ will be out on 18th November.

Bruno Mars hit song ’24K Magic’ has rebounded on the UK singles chart as it moved up from 11 to figure out at No: 6. The track has moved up largely as Mars performed it at the X-Factor results and also Live Lounge recently.

Drake is back on the UK top 10 singles with ‘Fake Love’ which climber from 37 to No: 10. The song is lead single from his playlist project ‘More Life’. The dance hall track is the Canadian artists sixth top 10 UK hit where he is the solo and lead vocalist.
