Having inspired and nurtured children with special needs for almost five decades in Sri Lanka, the Chitra Lane School for Children with Special Needs will host their annual charity event of song, dance and fashion on October 8  from 7 p.m. at the Bishop’s College Auditorium.

In line with their 50th anniversary celebrations this year, ‘Kids on Stage’- the fundraiser will feature students of the school and artists such as Samitha Mudunkotuwa, Krishan Maheson, Lanthra Perera (Doctor), Tanuja Perera, Natasha Jayasuriya (Deanna School of Dancing), MB Imran (Imzy’s Dance Loft), Embark and Nilanka Silva (La Sari) along with ‘The De Lanerolle Brothers’ who will showcase their talents in support of the students. The event will be choreographed by Brian Kerkoven. Otara Gunewardene of Odel and Embark fame will make a guest appearance.

The Chitra Lane School for children with special needs was founded in 1967 when three caring volunteers took it upon themselves to nurture and care for two children with special needs. The school initially started as a day school for children with special needs and has grown to reach over 1000 children and young adults across Sri Lanka.
