The matches of SLC Emerging Trophy Cricket Tournament could not get off to a start yesterday due to rain and wet outfields caused by overnight showers as the games reached the second day.

The only match to have some decent play was between Moratuwa SC and Air Force at De Zoysa Park in Moratuwa, but that too was limited to 27 overs on the first day.

Batting first Moratuwa SC were 68-4 with Babar Elahi unbeaten on 26 while fast bowler Lasanda Rukmal took three of the four wickets to fall.

Two matches – Kurunegala YCC vs Panadura SC at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala and BRC vs Lankan CC at Kadirana in Negombo were abandoned for the second day without a ball being bowled.

The match between Police SC and Kalutara PCC was rescheduled and will start today at Katunayake.

At Moratuwa:  Moratuwa SC 68 for 4 wickets in 27 overs (Babar Elahi 26n.o, Lasanda Rukmal 3 for 20) vs Air Force
