Central Province and Southern Province emerged champions in the Men’s and Women’s segments at the 41st National Sports Festival Table Tennis championships concluded at the S. Thomas College Indoor Stadium last weekend.

Winners: Men’s Central Province team receive their medals

Udaya Ranasinghe from the Central Province and Ishara Madurangi of the Southern Province guided their respective provinces coming out with flying colours to win the championships. Ranasinghe won the Men’s Singles and Doubles titles and was part of the victorious Men’s team event winners while Madurangi won the Women’s Singles, Mixed Doubles and Southern Province to win the team championship. She finished second runner-up in the Women’s Doubles event.

Ranasinghe and Madurangi were adjudged the Most Outstanding Players in their respective segments. Rajiva Wijetunga, President of the Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the awards.
