Addressing the gathering as the second guest speaker, he outlined leadership qualities that requires the leaders to impart vision, initiate change, and make difficult decisions.

The first guest speaker former Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe, 2007 and the founder of Stephanie Siriwardhena Foundation Ms. Stephanie Siriwardhena, emphasised the importance of personal branding.

Toast Masters Michelle De Silva of Hatton National Bank (HNB) and Ruvini Ahangangoda of Kothalawala Defence University (KDU) have won key contests in Division J at the division’s year end conference held on April 5 at the Taj Samudra Hotel, a media release issued by the division said.

They were adjudged champions of International Speech and Table Topic contests respectively and will be representing the division at the District Conference of District 82, held on May 23 in Sri Lanka.

The contest started with international speech contest followed by Table Topic Contest which comprised of speakers from various Clubs including Toast Masters Devan Gunasingham, Madhavi Perera, Roshantha Jayatunge, Michelle De Silva, Mohamed Inam, Manthi Senevirathne, Harshan Senadhira, Amrit Singalaxana, Rohan Amarasekara, Thiwya Easwarakumaran, Buddhi Perera, Ruvini Ahangangoda, Thilini Weerasuriya and Erangika Abeysirigunawardena.

Division Governor of Division J, District 82 Toastmaster Arshad Mohideen in his welcome address stated that “The engine for growth in the division is the exceptional support provided by the members of the division, which was fuelled by passion and their relentless commitment towards unleashing their potential.”

The second Toastmasters International Vice President for DTM Arunasalam Balraj was also present.
