Cabinet approves acceptance of German aid for project completion

Cabinet nods acceptance of German grants

Cabinet approved the acceptance of grant provided by the Federal Republic of Germany, under its development assistance scheme, for the completion of various development projects in the country.

Under the proposal made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is also Finance & Planning Minister, Establishment of a Vocational Training Centre in the Northern Province and an SME Sector Development Project in Sri Lanka, will receive financial grants of euros 4 and 5 million respectively.

The German government has also agreed to provide further technical assistance of euro 6 million for completion of activities presently needed for these projects, and for financing any additional activities.
