Report on GCE O/L Maths syllabus submitted for Cabinet approval

A Committee Report on proposed improvements to the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) Maths syllabus, was submitted to Education Minister, Bandula Gunawardena, last Thursday (30), the minister’s office said.

The Report was prepared by a 10-member Committee headed by Moratuwa University Vice Chancellor, Ananda Jayawardena.

“I have submitted this Report for Cabinet approval,” Minister Gunawardena said. He added, “The Report proposes necessary improvements to the subject and bring the local syllabus on par with other countries.”

“If Cabinet approval is granted, steps will be taken for the GCE O/L Maths paper to conform with the Report’s recommendations,” Minister Gunawardena said.
