Netball pool pruned down to fifteen

The number of players of the national netball team to select the players to represent Sri Lanka for the forthcoming Asian Netball Championship have been pruned down to 15 players which was decided by netball selection committee.
The decision was taken at the selection trial which was held at St. Joseph’s College recently. The 15 member pool will undergo training at the Air Force camp in Katunayake after which they will undergo training abroad which most probably be in Malawi or Fiji.
The final 12 members of the Sri Lanka team will be selected after the final trial which is scheduled to be held in early July. – MSA

The 15 players: Tharjanee Shivalingham, Semini Alwis, Shrin Nugera, Marisha Fernando, Kumarin Silva, Gayani Dissanayaka, Thisala Algama, Shashika Samarasinghe, Thivanka Perera, Thilini Wattegadara, Dharshani Abeykoon, Nawchalee Rajapakse, Hasitha Mendis and Sureka Gamage.
