Hotel carrom on April 30
View(s):The 2nd Inter-Hotels Carrom Tournament has been scheduled to be held in Salon Tulip at Hotel Galadari on April 30 beginning from 8.30am. Hotel Galadari, who has come forward to host the event are the reigning champions after they beat Mt. Lavinia Hotel in the final of the inaugural Inter-Hotel Tournament held last year.
According to the organisers and conductors, the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL), they are expecting more participation than last year, which were 10 hotels. CFSL revealed that a Hotel can field a team consisting of three men’s and three women’s players each. Each team will play two single games each and a doubles game each in men’s and women’s categories and a mixed double game. The team to record most number of wins will emerge as winners.
“This time the tournament will be played for a championship challenge trophy, awarded by Colombo Hilton. This is a good sign of the tournament progressing further,” Rohini Mathiasz, the secretary of CFSL stated. The draw of the tournament will be held tomorrow. – NA
