The Securities and Exchange Commission has called for explanations from a high networth investor on his recent share market transactions, SEC sources said.

“We wrote to him recently pertaining to some suspect share transactions,” one SEC official told the Business Times.

According to industry sources the investor has decided to maintain a low profile. “He isn’t trading much and as a result turnover levels in the market have been low,” an analyst said.
