The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon ( EFC), as part of its efforts to be more customer focused, this week signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Standard Chartered Bank, to have one of its Industrial Relations Advisors based at the bank premises offering employment relations services.

“In addition to obtaining day to day advice from the EFC, the bank requested that it provides this in house service once a week for a given period of time,” according to an EFC statement.

Ravi Peiris, Director General commenting on this new service said: “We see an opportunity for us to provide this direct service to certain members who need it. We would be in a position to provide our expertise to strengthen procedures and systems or even set up a HR Division in a company that needs it”.
