Sri Lanka ‘A’ Women and Australia ‘A’ Women won a match each in a Twenty20 tour series double header played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday. Sri Lanka ‘A’ Women recorded a close 2-wicket win in the first game played in the morning while Australia ‘A’ Women returned to win the second game by 6 wickets in the afternoon.

In the first game skipper Sashikala Siriwardene and Eshani Kaushalya starred with good allround performances to restrict Australia ‘A’ Women to 99 by claiming two wickets each. Both returned to score 34 and 33 respectively in pursue of the winning target of 100 runs.
But Australia ‘A’ Women bounced back to win the second game after a clinical performance steered them to a convincing win.Schoolgirl Hasini Perera top scored for Sri Lanka ‘A’ Women with a 44-ball 37 as skipper Siriwardene continued her good form with a useful 30 from 34 deliveries. Delissa Kimmince, Alyssa Healy and Nicole Bolton chipped in with knocks of 29, 29 and 28 respectively to see the Aussies through. Both teams will play a 50-over game at the SSC today.
