State Tele Awards for 2011, 2012

‘Thaksalawa’ directed by Ananda Abeynayake and ‘Swayanjatha’ of Sudath Rohana adjudged winners at the State Tele Awards held for the years 2011 and 2012.
Organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the major awards were won by Janak Premalal- the Best Actor-2012 and Chathurika Peiris- the Best Actress both for Swayanjatha.
The Best Actor for 2011 went to Pradeep Dharmadasa for his role in ‘Ayal’ while Malkanthi Jayasinghe won the Best Actress award for her role in ‘Yasa Isuru’.
2011 Best Director was awarded to Chamara Janaraj Peiris for his teleplay ‘Ayal’ while Sudath Rohana won 2012 Best Director’s award for ‘Swayanjatha’. Sanhinda won the Best Television Music programme.
