‘Free Flying’ – an exclusive selection of handwoven sarees from the Bai Lou Studio is now on sale at the Rithihi store down Alfred House Gardens, Colombo 5 until November 15.

‘Free Flying’ encompasses a range of sarees using the traditional Bengali weaving techniques in luxurious soft colours and soft fabrics. Bai Lou sarees are well known for their trademark weave, consisting of a blend of techniques and vibrant colours.

The collection will feature a set of sarees woven to replicate the royal looms of the Bengali aristocracy – the Zamindars; sarees woven using the ancient Japanese shibori technique, fused with Bai Lou textures in silk; the AbirJamdani collection, with its new look of geometric and floral jamdanis; Telia sarees from Andhra Pradesh; and the ‘Naga’ collection inspired by the Angami Tribe.
