A 70 run partnership between Skipper Dylan Fernandopulla (44) and Sadeera Samarawickrema (44) for the third wicket and a quickfire 35 from 15 balls by Pathum Madusanka helped St Joseph”s record a close 15 run victory over Maliyadeva Kurunegala in a Under 17 second round Division one game played at Darley Road.

Winning the toss and batting first St Josephs rattled up 193 for 6 wickets  when rain interupted their innings at the end of 38 overs.Chasing 194 to win Maliyadeva were given a flying start with openers T Karunanayake(34) and S Dassanayake(42) putting on 72 runs.However after their departure the Josephian medium pacers and spinners ran through the visitors batting to bowl them out for 178.
St. Joseph’s  beat Maliyadeva by 15 runs in an Under 17 Division 1 match played at Darley Rd, last week.
