Popular cinema on television

One of the evergreen hits in Sri Lankan cinema, ‘Ektamge’ directed by Herbert Ranjith Peiris is now being telecast as a miniplay on Hiru TV, the newest channel opened recently.

Produced by Walter Fernando, the popular film starring Joe Abeywickrema, Ravindra Randeniya and Malani Fonseka and released in 1980 was made into a teledrama by Iresh Lokubandara to the production of Jayalath Peiris.

The miniplay telecast at 8.30 on every weekday is played by Roger Seneviratne, Piumi Botheju, Amila Abeysekera, Bhadra Nandani, Ajith Lokuge, Buddhika Lokuketiya, Nirosha Maithree, Kaushalya Samarasinghe and Akalanka Heeraliyadda.
