Trinity warm up for Bradby

With a week ahead of the Bradby Shield first leg encounter, a strong second half burst by Trinity helped them to record a stunning 30-24 win against Kingswood played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy yesterday.

The Trinitians were not in their usual form when in their Under-20 Schools League Division I A rugby match began as Kingswood consolidated to gain a 17-7 lead at half time. The boys from Randles Hills posted three tries and two conversions during that session. Yet Trinity who only managed to post a converted try in the first half exploded in the second half to score three more tries and two penalties while restricting Kingswood to a solitary unconverted try.

For Trinity winger Dharshana Udulagama scored two tries while lock Ryle Madena and scrum half Halique Wadood planted a try each. Fly half Tharinda Ratwatte put over two tries and two penalties. Winger Chintaka Kumara, centre Chathura Piyasena, prop Ravindu Ilangangedara and Dinooshan Ariyapala posted a try each for Kingswood. Fly half Duminda Bandara converted two tries.
