With Tiger Airways' Singapore strong track record - with a near 100% flight completion in 2011, punctuality rate of over 85%, a young fleet of under three years of age, and great value offerings, the airline said it expects the new service to be well-received by travellers.

"We are focussed on building our network and connectivity in the region. Tiger Airways' direct service between Colombo and Singapore will provide more options at great value fares for leisure and business travellers," said Dave Perring, Tiger Airways' Commercial Director, "Singapore is now a hop away for Sri Lankans wanting to explore the sights and sounds of the garden city. Likewise, the rich history and natural beauty of Sri Lanka is within easy reach." Tiger Airways operates the service three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
