Ranil goes North, meets public and traders

Opposition and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe began a four day visit to Jaffna yesterday morning.
He visited Pooneryn where a special pooja was held and he also met with the people in the area.

Mr.Wickremesinghe also stopped at the Kilinochchi town and visited the Maha Bodhi temple there as well as the Kandasamy Kovil and spoke with the residents of the area.

In the Jaffna peninsula he visited Nallur and met with Southern traders doing business in Jaffna.
Today he will visit Delft Island and Nagadeepa. At each venue he will hold five pocket meetings. He will also visit the Nagadeepa Vihara and the Naga Pooshani Amman Kovil.

On Monday he will meet with the Bishop of Jaffna as well as members of the Church of South India. He will also visit the Naga Vihara in Jaffna town. On Tuesday a special pooja will be conducted for the UNP leader. He will take part in the joint UNP/TNA May Day rally along with several other parties.

Mr.Wickremsinghe is accompanied by MPs Ravi Karunanayake, Tissa Attanayaka. Vijaya Kala Maheswaran and PC member K.Veyaludam and Karainagar PS Member K.Balachandran.
