National Institute of Business Management in its history of 42-year unmatched service to the Nation particularly in the fields of training and education has taken a daring move to form National School of Business Management (NSBM), the degree awarding school of NIBM. NSBM is a fully owned subsidiary of NIBM, which offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in the fields of management, computing and Engineering. NSBM commenced operations of its city campus on 01 March 2012 at a spacious 6- story building at High-level Road, Colombo -05. The first batch consists of 600 students in the fields of management and IT. NSBM will be in full operation in 2014 at a spacious and environmentally friendly 26-acre land located at Pitipana, Homagama–the Knowledge city of the country as identified by the Government of Sri Lanka. Estimated On – Campus capacity of the NSBM is 5000 students with modern learning facilities of higher education including hostels and sports facilities for students.
The new School of Business with the vision of making the most preferred business school in the region has designed world-class degree programmes integrating leadership, ethics, global thinking, core management skills and leading edge technological innovations. It mainly focuses on producing graduates and postgraduate professionals in the field’s management, computing and engineering.
NSBM as defined by its mission is a creative and innovative school of future generations. NSBM will be driven under the themes of innovation of entrepreneurship, technology and globalization to direct the country to knowledge based globalized economy, while creating synergies with existing body of knowledge after considering the needs of 21st century in the fields of Management, computing and engineering education.

School of Computing
School of Computing is closely linked with world top ranked universities such as University College Dublin, Ireland, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia and University of Plymouth, UK, which enables us in providing a wide range of degree programmes for the participants.
Its perfect blend of state of the art specialization in computer science delivers diversified programmes for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.
School of Engineering
The school of Engineering is one of the three main schools functioning under the NSBM.
School of Engineering offers degree courses in Computer Engineering and Electronics in collaboration with world-renowned universities.The school keeps abreast with advancing technologies through research and development activities, staff training and networking with international communities.
Affiliated Universities of NSBM
NSBM has exclusive partnership agreements with three (03) leading universities in the world. Our approach in partnership development is unique in terms of quality of academic delivery and certification. NSBM’s partnerships with foreign universities are based on their ranking in the world and it is always an exclusive partnership with NSBM. Major uniqueness when comparing with other foreign universities, which are in operation in Sri Lanka is that professors of our partner university conduct more than 50% of the lectures. Direct delivery is more than 90% in our postgraduate degree programmes. Only the research study is conducted in Sri Lanka to make sure that local knowledge is rooted with global experience. NSBM has signed three partnerships with foreign universities, namely University College Dublin, Ireland, University of Plymouth, UK and Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia.
