AV Production marks 20 years in the events’ industry

AV Productions this year celebrates 20 years in business, being one of the oldest audio-visual integrated solutions company in Sri Lanka. AV Productions specializes in events, branding, project management and outdoor visibility, according to a company statement, adding that it “has proved its competency in handling complete services for various events, from organizing to executing an entire event”.

AV Productions was founded in 1992 as a small family business by Shirani and Nalin Samarasekera, founding directors of the company. Their first employee was Christine Moses, the current Finance Director. Thereafter their son Seniya Samarasekera joined the organization and was joined by his wife Eroshi Samarasinghe. As the company established itself and grew, AV Productions ventured into the untapped event management market back in 1997, the statement said.

The company made additional strides in leading the event management arena in 2003 by expanding their operations by putting up its own workshops and stores complex. The company diversified into other areas such as digital printing, design & fabrication of signages, pylons, displays, special structures and promotional items.

“Over the years the company also worked towards strengthening the ownership of the company with one of their biggest asset, their 40 permanent employees. To give staff more reason to commit to the company, share issues were offered to senior staff. Their 20 year journey in the local events industry has led them to be pioneers in the field despite the challenges faced through the years. Having a firm foot in the industry because of their state of the art workshops and modern equipment available in-house, AV productions supplies the best most advanced equipment for the perfect event,” it said.

Seniya Samarasekera, Managing Director, AV Productions, commenting on the anniversary, said, ‘‘Our road to success in the past 20 years lies with two of our strongest elements, being our staff and our clients. I look forward to our future as we strive to continue to deliver the best service to our customers and hope to continue to champion the event management industry in Sri Lanka. ’’
