Gateway’s Crystal Anniversary Fair

It was fun time at Gateway College Colombo when the teachers and parents of the Primary School organized a ‘Mini Fair’ at the College premises. It coincided with the Anniversary Exhibition which was organised by the teachers and the students of the Secondary School. The Fair that was attended by over 4500 guests provided a great opportunity to the entire Gateway community as well as their families to enjoy and renew their bonds with one another and the alma mater.

It was indeed a celebration that was packed with many exciting events. There was entertainment by the students as well as for the students. The students entertained the large gathering with a talent show which was truly a masterpiece. The College Choir, as well as many talented singers, student bands and student dance troupes put together an outstanding display of song and dance.

One of the highlights of the evening was the ‘Fashion Show’ that was organised by the students of both Secondary and Primary Schools. It showcased the creativity of the students, as the costumes and the modelling were their original work. The participation of children of the Foundation School added colour to it.

There was also entertainment for the students by the band “Battery” and DJ “Paradise”. The other highlights were a beautiful display of fireworks and the cutting of a giant anniversary cake which was shared by most who attended the fair.

The variety of stalls included delectable food, clothes, jewellery, face paint, nail spa, toys, bookshops, etc. The children had great fun in the bouncer, merry go round, the game stalls and the horror house.
It was nice to see that both, the young and the old, enjoying themselves immensely.
