Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The World in a bird’s view

By Himashi Munasinghe, Panadura B.V.,

I am a bird, soaring freely through the sky,
Many are the countries and lands I pass by,
I witness hundreds of natural scenes and sights,
Which bring Mother Nature into glorious limelight.

Waterfalls, rivers and mountains I see,
The gentle music of the river fills me with glee,
At times I pause, and perch on trees,
Listening, as they tell me of times when ancient trees were seeds.

As I soar amidst clouds, in the dark of the night,
I see cities beneath me pouring out colourful lights,
As I wander in the sky, light and carefree,
I realize that you see how lucky I am to be me.
