UK continues to attract students for tertiary studies

UK education is all about students. No matter what level, you'll have the flexibility to shape your studies to suit your needs. This freedom combined with a centuries-old tradition of excellence and an innovative approach to teaching makes UK education recognized and respected all over the world.

There are many reasons why students continue to select from hundreds of universities and colleges of higher education throughout the UK. The main reason is that the country is renowned for the quality of its research and the reputation of its academics. A UK undergraduate education gives an amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in a subject that fascinates you. From the broad range of courses available students can choose exactly what they wish to study. At undergraduate level you could select a single honours degree and focus entirely on one subject, or study two subjects in a joint honours or combined honours degree - it's entirely up to you.

For those who do not have the requirements to begin a degree course, such as the academic qualifications or the English skills, Foundation Year courses are available to help bridge the gap.Lectures are an important part of UK undergraduate courses. You'll spend most of your time in small tutorial and seminar groups where together with your tutor and fellow students, you will discuss and analyze pre-prepared topics. You will find that your ideas and opinions are very welcome. If you choose a technical undergraduate degree subject in the UK, you are likely to spend a large portion of your time in supervised laboratory work.

This is designed to help you develop necessary technical skills
There are postgraduate degrees and Master's degrees of four years duration that are awarded as first degrees. To help develop thinking and research skills, students will work mostly on their own. On taught courses, postgraduate tutors and lecturers provide the framework of the course, but students are encouraged to pursue their own interests. Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses in the UK are particularly intensive, challenging and a rewarding form of taught postgraduate course. A student is expected to work through a large amount of material, complete projects and assignments and give regular presentations. Teaching methods characteristic of MBAs include case studies, simulations and business games.

You can add value to your UK study experience by gaining some valuable work experience. Getting a job while you study in the UK can improve your language skills and enhance your CV. Your future employer will be looking for smart, creative, team-orientated people - working and studying in the UK could make you the perfect candidate.
