APIIT Law students depart for UK Summer School

APIIT Law School is proud to announce that fifteen second year students from its internal British LL.B (Hons) Law degree programme recently departed to the UK to take part in a Summer School programme at Staffordshire University.

The optional Summer School programme, in which students complete a module of their Law degree programme in European Union Law, incorporates a range of extension activities including visits to courts and Parliament in the UK, as well as recreational and sightseeing activities.

Having experienced a taste of university life in the UK, on their return the students will be among the first group of final year Law students at APIIT Law School, which commenced operations in 2009.

APIIT Law School's LL.B (Hons) degree programme also offers students the opportunity to transfer to Staffordshire University to complete the Law degree. As APIIT Law students complete the same modules in the first two years of the Law degree programme as their counterparts at Staffordshire University, students may transfer at the end of their first year or second year of study.

While some of their peers are transferring to Staffordshire University Law School to complete their final year, the Summer School students are among the majority of APIIT Law students who will complete their Law degree at APIIT Law School in Sri Lanka.

APIIT Law School students have the unique advantage of studying Sri Lankan Law in their final year. Sri Lankan Company Law and Sri Lankan Labour Law have been fully accredited by Staffordshire University towards the LL.B (Hons) degree as optional modules of study for APIIT Law students. An optional 'bridging programme' at the end of the degree programme will also prepare students for the Sri Lanka Law College examinations, further orienting them for legal practice in Sri Lanka.

Surely, it's more than a degree that you will receive at APIIT Law School! Students wishing to experience the APIIT Advantage and register for the next intake in September 2011, are advised to contact Senani on 011 7675105 or info@apiit.lk, or visit our state- of- the- art APIIT Law School at Union Place, Colombo 2 for further information and assistance.
