IIHS is happy to announce that it now has an IELTS Examination Centre under British Council and held the first examination on the 11th of June 2011 with the participation of 22 candidates. The candidates included IIHS students who are following courses in the health care field and also students sent by other IELTS providers. "We are proud to publicize that almost all the students have obtained very good results, exceeding their expected band scores" states Ms. Nishani Kulatunga, the Campus Director of IIHS. Two very good examples are Evanka Fernando and Addhir Hassan who are following an International Nursing Diploma at IIHS.

Evanka Fernando (19) has obtained an overall band score of 8.0 (Individual band scores of Speaking - 8.0, Reading - 8.5, Listening - 7.5 and Writing - 7.5) and Addhir Hassan (18) has obtained an overall band score of 7.0 (Individual band scores of Speaking- 7.5, Reading- 7.0, Listening- 7.0 and Writing- 7.0).
