Science put in their place

The Anthonians put Science College in their place with a hard fought 17 points (2 goals, 1 penalty) to 8 (1 try, 1 penalty) win at Nittawela. Science seemed to reserve their best for their home ground where they beat both Trinity and Kingswood. Earlier they had been beaten by the Rajans at Bogambara.
Science conceded the first half to the hosts who ran up a 9-3 lead. The Science lads dominated the second half but their moves lacked finish.

At the breather St. Anthony’s led 17-3.
Lock Nirodha Suriyabandara and winger Ramdas Romesh scored the tries for the winners, while full back Dhanushka Dayan goaled both tries and put over the penalty.

Winger Hashan Maduranga touched down for Science and full back Hashan Perera converted the penalty.Referee Gamini Indrawansa. - AK
