Wesley in narrow win over Thurstan

Wesley recorded their second win of the Singer Under 20 Division 1A inter-school when they defeated former arch rivals Thurstan by 22 points to 20 in the match played at Longdon Place yesterday.
The two sides were locked at ten each before Wesley opened up in the second half. Thurstan though making a last minute effort failed to beat the Wesley defense.

Wesley accumulated their points through a goal and three tries while Thurstan made up their points through two goals a penalty and a drop goal. Shehan Saranga, Mohamed Yoonos, K. Sammandaperuma and Vishwa Steinwall scored the tries for Wesley with Akram Assan making one conversion.

Thurstan’s try scorers were Senura Keheliya and Thasith Gunaratne while Kalinga Perera booted over the penalty and the drop goal with Ishara Avishka converting one try.
