Isipathana drub S. Thomas’ 77-3

Isipathana routed S. Thomas’ Mt. Lavinia 77-3 in their Under-20 schools league rugby encounter played at Havelock Park yesterday. Isipathana recorded the biggest winning margin in the ongoing season with a 13-try spree out of which six were converted. They led 41-3 at half time and allowed S. Thomas’ to score through a solitary penalty.

Lock Wasula Wmalaweera and winger Mekalanka Promoda ran down two tries while centre Shamal Chathuranga, fullback Shanaka Kumara, hooker Prasad Madushanka, lock Ganindu Weerasinghe, winger Shenal Dias, fly half Prasad Devinda, prop Nipuna Devinda and centre Ashan Gallage scored a try each. The winners received a penalty try in the second half. Fly half Devinda (4) and fullback Kumara (2) made the conversions.
