Victory over LTTE 2nd anniversary celebrations on May 27

More than 10,000 security personnel and Police will take part in a military parade at Galle Face Green on Friday (27) to mark the second anniversary of the victory over the LTTE.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who will be the chief guest on the occasion, will be given a guard of honour and a 21-gun salute. In the rest of the country, the second anniversary will be marked with events in camps of the security forces.

Meanwhile, Galle Road, between Galle Face and Bambalapitiya junction, will be closed from 6.00 am to 1.00 p.m. from today until May 27, for rehearsals for the military parade.
