After a lapse of one year the City High School had their annual sports meet at Saranankara playgrounds , with Mr.P.H.D.Waidyatilaka chartered civil engineer, International Technical Official for Sports as the chief guest.

The Little friends welcomed Mr.& Mrs. Waidyatilaka by performing the grand salute. The whole school population participated in this much awaited event with a lot of enthusiasm...The girls and boys looked very smart in their house coloured track suits.

The large gathering of Parents, wellwishes and spectators encouraged the competitors. The athletes displayed their talents and prowess in field and track events like professionals..It was a treat to watch the mass drill display. The girls dressed in purple coloured shalwars and the boys in purple T-shirts and trousers swayed to the rhythm of "hele jathika Abimane" in perfect unison. The credit of this show should go to Mrs.Padmini Ravichandran for her untiring effort in training this colourful display.

The Little ones of the Montessori section had some novel events. The fancy dress parade was the cynosure of the crowd. After tough competition EMERALD house emerged champions. Thanks to the two sport coordinators Mrs.Rajitha Weeraratna and Mrs.Nayomi Hettipathirana the sports meet was very orderly as well as an enjoyable one.
