CIM Student Committee 2011

The new Student Committee of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka Region was formed on February 22 2011 at the CIM Regional Office. Pemith Paaris was appointed as its new President, Illangeshwaran Abinesh as Vice President, Shiran Peiris as Secretary and Prathapan Kaneshapillai as the Treasurer.

The objective of forming a student committee is to ensure that students have the potential to develop the practical skills by working closely with the events and activities conducted at CIM Sri Lanka Region.
This will enhance the knowledge of the student and provide them the opportunity to develop their profession and soft skills.

CIM Student Committee consists of 7 members and 15 sub committee members. It has introduced 3 main groups namely, the Education Team, Network Team and Public Relations. The main objective is communication with CIM members and non-members of events and activities conducted at CIM.
The Education team focuses on conducting workshops to guide students on the long- term perspective of their professional career.

The Network Team focuses on establishing a good network among non-members and members of CIM to actively interact with the community. The Public Relations teams' focus is to communicate events and activities of CIM among the students while elevating and sustaining the corporate profile of CIM.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing is the world's largest and most prestigious professional body of marketing and CIM Sri Lanka Region is the fastest growing CIM body, with over 3000 members in Sri Lanka. CIM examinations are held four times a year in Colombo and Kandy, while five accredited study centres offer the qualification in Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna.
