Funday Times - A Poem for the week

Cricket fever

By Afra Laffar (14 years), Ilma Int. School

Played with a bat,
And a very hard ball,
The game cricket brings,
Cricket fever to all!

Sri Lanka, India,
South Africa, England,
West Indies, Australia,
Pakistan and New Zealand.

Champions of cricket,
Are the teams above,
Smacking balls hard,
And stumping they love!

Hat-trick, free-hit,
And a maiden over,
All these belong,
To cricket fever!

From a billion spectators,
Loud cheers rise up,
For a boundary, six or a wicket,
Cricket lovers forget their sup!

Played with a willow,
And a very hard ball,
This wonderful sport brings,
Unity to all!
