‘Persepolis’ political repression

‘Persepolis’, a film a growing up and a stunning reminder of the human cost of war and political repression, will be screened at the Alliance Francaise Kotte at 6.30 pm on Thursday August 26.

Nominated for an Oscar, the film shows how we carry on, through laughter and tears, in the face of absurdity and introduces us to an irresistible little girl ‘Marji’ with whom we cannot help but fall in love. Directed by Marjane Satrapi, this 95 minute 2007 film stars Chiara Mastroianni, Catherine Deneuve and Simon Abkarian.

This screening is free of charge and open to the public at the AF de Kotte at 139 Jawatte Road, Colombo 05.
