Nalliah slams unbeaten 98

Lankan Cavaliers Inaugural T20

An unbeaten 97 in just 59 balls by Nalliah Devarajan was the highlight of the first day’s play in the inaugural T20 cricket tournament conducted by the Lankan Cavaliers played yesterday at the Colts ground.

Nalliah’s knock included 11 boundaries and three sixes as he along with Sudarshana Guruge who cracked a 44 ball knock of 80 with six boundaries and three sixes put on a massive unbroken stand of 185 runs for the fourth wicket helping Kurunegala XI record a comfortable 89 runs win over Colts XI.
In another match played at the same venue Olcott XI defeated MCA Veterans XI by nine wickets. In the two matches played at the BRC ground Moratuwa XI beat Quadrangular XI by seven wickets and Umpires XI overcame Kandy Veterans XI by 42 runs.

The conclusion of the matches saw Kurunegala XI, Olcott XI, Moratuwa XI and Umpires XI advance to the semi finals. The semi finals are scheduled to be played at 9.30 a.m. with Kurunegala XI meeting Olcott XI at Colts ground and Moratuwa XI taking on Umpires XI at BRC ground. The final is scheduled to be played at 1.30 p.m. at the Colts ground.
