Wilpattu National Park reopens

The Wilpattu National Park, which was frequently opened and closed for security reasons, was reopened by Environment Minister Champika Ranawaka at a special ceremony held at the Park premises yesterday.

Journalists and other guests at the event were taken on a conducted tour of the park after the opening ceremony.

The Park is now open to both local and foreign touriststhe public. The Minister said the Park would not have to be closed in the future.
