Swan on the screen

‘Wasuda’ famed teleserial director, Mohamad Shaffraz’s maiden film ‘Sudu Hansi’, will be released in Regal Colombo and other 22 CEL theatres around the country from January 8.

Produced by Sisira Hewahenna, Chadrika Godakanda, the film stars Arjuna Kamalanath, Amisha Kavindi, Muthu Tharanga, Semini Iddamalgoda and Neil Alles in the stellar cast.

Based on a novel written by Gamini Wasalasuriya, the film revolves around Anjana a who works as a driver in a wealthy family in the town. His employer is Mrs. Ransiri who lives with her playful daughter Maleesha and sick husband. Mrs. Ransiri falls in love with Anjana who resembles her former lover.

However Anjana has a girl friend in the village and she is Wathsala. Meanwhile Mrs. Ransiri’s daughter Maleesha too has a special interest in Anjana. But what would happen when Maleesha’s boyfriend hears this? And what would be the fate of Anjana with the three women around him?

Director Mohamad Shaffraz, started his cinema career as a pupil of late H. D. Premaratne and later worked as a theatre artiste and television producer. He directed over 700 episodes of the mega teleserial ‘Wasuda’ and had worked in a number of mega teledramas.

Edited by Pravin Jayaratne, camera is handled by Pushpakumara Bandara Rajaguru, art director is Sumathi Kudaligama. Under the musical direction of Nawarathna Gamage, playback singing is by Amerasiri Peiries and Uresha Ravihari.
