Middlesex University introduces new programmes with ICBT campus

A degree which gives an edge over the others in the job market

ICBT, a leading tertiary education provider which offers a wide range of higher educational programmes in association with some of the best universities and educational service providers across the globe, has strengthened its collaboration with Middelsex University, a leading university in UK.

The alliance between Middlesex University and ICBT which began as early as year 2006 will be reinforced with Middlesex University giving ICBT the go ahead to offer a whole new range of degrees and post graduate programmes covering various subjects like Information Technology and Business. The Associate Dean, Learning and Quality Enhancement, School of Health and Social Sciences, Middlesex University, Dr.Karen Pettit noted "we decided to embark on a large expansion with ICBT as we are totally satisfied with the resources and the delivery of the existing programme offered by ICBT, thus ICBT will now offer 6 new programmes, affiliated to the Middlesex University."

The new range of programmes include B.SC in business information systems and management, B.SC honours in computer networking ,B.SC in computer networks mobile computing, M.SC in Business information systems management ,M.SC in software engineering and BA honours in business management.

Some of the above programmes are scheduled to commence in January 2010 and others in September 2010. A team of Middelsex University representatives and external evaluators visited the country recently to grant ICBT the approval to launch these internationally recognized programmes that provide Sri Lanka students an opportunity to reach their higher education ambitions right here in Sri Lanka.

When asked the basis for strengthening the association with ICBT she explained. "We looked at the facilities offered at ICBT and the quality of delivery. We spoke to some of the graduate students who passed out and found out that the students were pleased with the extensive support they received from ICBT.

Middlesex University has decided to strengthen the collaboration with ICBT because the institution has a dedicated panel of lecturers and offers an excellent support system for students to excel in their chosen field. It was understood that a Degree from Middelsex University had given these students an edge over the others in the job market."

According to Dr.Pettit, Middlesex University an important stakeholder of this collaboration has gained a reputation as an innovator in higher education and has been constantly ranked among the best UK Universities by UK education qualification agencies for its innovative learning approaches, the strong support given to the students and the quality of education.
