Virtusa’s virtuoso display

“Silver Pixels” , a digital photography exhibition showcased works of art from the length and breadth of the Virtusa Corporation’s global offices. Under the themes of ‘Clarity through Simplicity’ and ‘Agility through Simplicity’ well- known historical landmarks, mesmerizing landscapes, still shots and daring action shots were captured by the staff of Virtusa.

From a collection of over 200 exhibits, six upcoming young photographers emerged winners in the local segment. The judges, Sri Lanka’s leading photographers, Dominic Sansoni and Mithra Weerakoon were impressed by the diversity and standards of photography. Nirdesha Munasinghe, Suvini Gunawardena, Hirantha Pushpakumara, Peshele Randeni, Dinoo Perera and Ruwan Bakmedeniya were chosen the 2009 Silver Pixel winners, with their photographs to be published in the Virtusa coffee table book.

General Manager Virtusa Corporation, Madu Ratnayake said at the opening ceremony at the Lionel Wendt last week that “Silver Pixels is committed to showcasing talent among Virtusans, while promoting a passion for hobbies and a work life balance.” Declared open by British High Commissioner Dr. Peter Hayes, the exhibition was held at the Harold Peries Gallery of the Lionel Wendt from September 24- 26.
