Treacherous trench at Aladeniya junction

The famous Aladeniya Junction is where the Kandy-Kurunegala carpeted highway and the Kandy-Aladeniya Road meet. When there is a traffic jam in Katugastota, Kandy, vehicles heading towards Gampola, Peradeniya, Colombo and Kandy use the Muruthalawa-Aladeniya Road.

Unfortunately, there is a huge trench in Aladeniya town, and many vehicles have fallen into the hole. Although the Road Development Board has been informed about the trench, no action has been taken yet to fill the hole. The trench is a danger to both vehicle drivers and pedestrians.

Residents in the area are hoping the authorities will take note and act fast.
