Aney is it true ?

Creating a monster

A lot of people who watched the first ODI at Dambulla observed a certain very senior player who holds a very responsible position in the team covering official logo clothing while batting and they were wondering why?

Delving into the matter one found out this was a kind of trade union action. When the ODI clothing boxes arrived in Colombo they had discovered the long sleeved shirts had not arrived as promised. However this player taking onus on himself decided to cover the logo in his short sleeved shirt while at play.

Now the SLC management is facing a problem as the clothing sponsors Reebok have come on them like a ton of bricks.

At the same time some others say that the clothing sponsors already have three brand ambassadors in three other senior members of the Lankan team and the player concerned was also expecting the same to be extended to him too. However when that did not happen they say this was his way of getting back at them.

Another disturbed VIP lamented, this monster maybe worse than the other one. Dimes on lame horses!
Just for your digestion a little snippet let off by a former Lankan cricketer: “Is it that the Lankan selectors love to boil in their own faux-pas? During the T20 tournament they put in all their dimes on lame horses in the likes of Chamara Silva, Jehan Mubarak and Isuru Udana who were more or less non-contributors.
Now in the present context once again they have already placed a bet on Upul Tharanga who made most embarrassing 17 in 44 balls. Some felt that he was beaten in more balls than he middled. They are now also pulling their purses on spent force Dilhara Fernando – bringing him as an addition to the squad of fifteen, while Mahela Udawatte who hit a blistering 161 at Kurunegala still is an outside spectator. The pace set of the Lankan cupboard is already full with Lasith Malinga, Nuwan. Kulasekera Thilina Thushara and Angelo Mathews who were already in the fifteen when Mr. Wise guy decided to call in Dilhara Fernando. For what or to please whom?”

Any comments Mr. Selector?

*Funny unveiling

Those who watched the unveiling of the Mobitel Trophy after the first ODI at Dambulla sensed that something had gone wrong somewhere. They say some were blaming the TOC for not informing some VIPs on the programme and others were blaming various others. Those who watched it saw the girl who carried the trophy did not even know what to do with it till the last moment.

The sneak

It also said that the left arm bowler who created havoc in the hotel also is in the habit of setting one against the other. One moment he is in one cubical saying things about one VIP and in the moment he in the other doing the same. They also say that by doing this he has made avenues of making more than a months salary off the same coffer.
