Take time to go spicy with Koluu

It’s time for ‘Cook Up with Koluu, Spices 2009’ and the final timetable, keeping in mind participants who do not want to miss the Literary Festival in Galle, is as follows:

Wednesday, February 11, 18, 25 and March 4, 10 a.m. to 12 noon and repeat session from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. or Saturday, February 14, 21, 28 and March 7, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and repeat session from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The venue for the inaugural sessions is a conducive setting in Colombo 7. Enrolment forms are now available with Tashya or Shamina at the Cook Up with Koluu registration office, 66 Kynsey Road, Colombo 8, Monday to Friday, 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tel: 4622282 Ext. 103.

The four demonstration sessions presented personally by Master Chef Koluu, will cover the following:

Session 1 - Finger Foods/ Starters/Soups
Session 2 - Thai food inspired by the Blue Elephant chain of restaurants
Session 3 - Fusion food (South East Asian and Thai spices)
Session 4 - Continental fare using aromatic herbs & sauces

Participants will receive a copy of the day’s menu demonstrated, but are also advised to bring a notebook and pen to jot down very important “trade secrets” that Koluu will be revealing as he goes along.

A range of world-renowned products – Blue Elephant curry pastes, salad dressings, dipping sauces, snacks and sweets, coconut and rice ingredients will be made available at introductory prices, by courtesy of B & Q Enterprises, sole agents in Sri Lanka for Blue Elephant products and ingredients.
