Carezza… What am I talking about? Well it is all about being 'relaxed' and 'elegant.' Carezza – in Italian stands for 'light touch' and this is what this brand is all about. It is simple and classy and created for the essence of women.

The main aim of this brand is to help young fashion designer's creativity and originality to flourish.

Based in Sri Lanka, all clothes are designed and made locally in order to support the local industry. What this brand is focusing on is the professional woman – who wants to be elegant while working and has a flexible wardrobe that allows her to be professional during the day and dress up for the evening.
LIFT (the Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology) was the first fashion educational institution in Sri Lanka and has been nurturing young talent from their inception and has now come with yet another way of helping young designers reach their potential.

The LIFT gallery – has now been launched a concept with the idea of promoting fashion entrepreneurship in the country. The LIFT gallery will give young graduating designers the ideal opportunity to launch and promote their labels and also get a chance of meeting their customers.
LIFT and Carezza are working collaboratively to produce their first collection. The LIFT students were given the task of creating a collection that professional women could wear during the day and one that can transform easily into evening wear.

The runners-up

Their creations would reflect the Carezza brand which stands for 'a touch of class.' Seven young students participated by submitting their collections which were judged in Sri Lanka, Italy and England. Though all the collections were said to be of a very high standard there was one collection that stood out among the rest.

This was that of Bagya Wickramage (20) whose collection was judged as the most ahead of its time.
Her collection will be launched together with Carezza and LIFT working in partnership and will be marketed in Sri lanka, Europe and America. Their aim is to make this collection available to all individuals.

This collection will also be promoted at the LIFT gallery situated at 112, Baudhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 4, from December onwards. Twenty five percent of the income earned by Carezza will be donated to the Ability Foundation for children with intellectual disabilities, their families and teachers.
