The “Queen in concert"

The "Queen in Concert" featuring the Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkgar, telecast over the Channels of "Derana" on Sunday night was a rare treat and a scintilating programme.

Lovers of Hindi music no doubt, would have, enjoyed this Musical Programme, specially those old timers who were afforded the opportunity of listening to some of the favourite melodies of the 60s and 70s. It would have certainly revived happy memories of the good old days when Hindi films were the craze amongst the young and the old.

Mohamed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar were the inseparable duo at the time, who reigned supreme. With the passing away of Mohamed Rafi, the void so created, has not been filled so far, with someone of his calibre and stature.

The "King in Concert" featuring the late Mohamed Rafi would have been a fitting tribute to a legend, who has contributed invaluably towards the Indian World of song and music.
