Kadirgamar Institute meets sans CBK adviser

The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute for Strategic Studies held its inaugural meeting yesterday under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera.

One of the controversial appointees to the Institute's Board, Ram Manickckalingam, a one-time adviser to President Chandrika Kumaratunga was absent from the meeting.

Others present yesterday were Ms. Suganthie Kadirgamar, Foreign Secretary H.M.G.S. Palihakkara, Prof. Sudharshan Seneviratne and Ashraff Omar, Managing Director of Brandix.

The inaugural discussions revolved around the starting of projects under the aegis of the Institute.
