OTSC sings Golden Oldies

By Sanath Weerasuriya

'Gold Oldies Sing-Along Nite 2' will come alive at the OTSC Club House from 8.30 pm. to 12.00 midnight the on Saturday October 28.

Old Thomians' Swimming Club (OTSC) celebrating the 50th Anniversary this year is presenting this show. After the success of last year's Sing-along Nite with Priya Peiris and his group, which was a sell out, OTSC has ventured in to this project. This year's show will be performed by 'Sam The Man' (Sam is an Old Thomian and also a member of the OTSC).

Aptly termed 'unforgettable' Sam will sing all those memorable songs of years gone by in his own inimitable style. He will take you down memory lane with songs from Pat Boon, Perry Como, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bren, Jim Reeves, Engelbert, Tom Jones, Harry Bellafonte… to CT Fernando and Sunil Shantha etc…. and of course some baila medleys at the end. Sing-along is specialty with Sam, and his selection of golden oldies and his style of presentation have made him a firm favorite with lovers of music of the days gone by.

Sam will be accompanied by Thushara on Keyboard, Sumith on Lead Guitar, Ranga on Bass and Chummy on Drums and the Compere for the show will be Mr. Brian Thomas.

It's a member's night at the Club for families and guests and tickets are priced at Rs 400/- inclusive of dinner and an attractive song book comprising full lyrics of over 75 songs in English and Sinhala.

Limited tickets are available on a first come-first served basis with the Club Manager (Tel:2716529). Please note that there will be no reservations. Tickets are now available for sale.
