Is this how we are treated?

To relieve the poor pensioners, the Pensions Department circular No 2/2006 was issued to Divisional Secretaries and Assistant Divisional Secretaries to remove anomalies of pensions as at 01.01.1997. This circular was issued in accordance with the Budget proposals 2006.

Seven months have passed with no action being taken to rectify these anomalies.
How can these pensioners meet the increased costs of medicine, electricity and water? Are their dues to be paid after their passing away? Is this the way to treat senior citizens?

I trust the President will direct the Divisional Secretaries to correct these anomalies.
