Keangnam's 'Dawson Grand' to grace Colombo's skyline

Keangnam, the Korean construction firm who built the Royal Park Apartment Complex, and has started construction on the 'Dawson Grand', a 38 and 42 storeyed Twin Tower super luxury apartment complexes, is at present negotiating on several other lands in Colombo 2 to start other such projects.

"Dawson Grand is located on 1.3 acres of prime real estate in Colombo 2 and we feel that this area is very marketable," Nimal Silva, General Manager of the company said. He said that the company will launch the condominium projects within a year.

Managing Director Keangnam Lanka, Noh Han Choon said that the construction on Dawson Grand is scheduled to be completed within 38 months and the location has a double value in that it is both in the heart of the residential as well as the business areas of Colombo. "This has a capital investment of US$ 60 million," he said, adding that Korean architectural firm 'Space Group' is responsible for the design of The Dawson Grand while their local partners are Design Group 5. He said that the project will have a workforce of 600 to 1000 at peak time. "Less than four percent will be Korean, the rest being Sri Lankan," he added.
