The company said this award was made on the basis of countless efforts undertaken by Malwatte to promote Sri Lankan agricultural and horticultural produce in Holland (tea and flowers) as well as for the work it has done to grow and export Dutch flowers to international markets.

Malwatte Valley Plantations Ltd. has developed a close relationship with Dutch Horticultural Research Companies. These companies have developed specific new flower varieties through years of research and trials and Malwatte is one of the companies with whom they work closely to promote these varieties worldwide. “It is intended to add a further range of patented Dutch flowers to the present range in the near future,” the company said.
